Become a Flyspotter
Let’s send a message to people who dump rubbish illegally on our streets that says, “not in our neighbourhood.”
Be a part of the solution. You can report flytipped items so our streets stay clean, and free from rubbish.
As part of our campaign we are letting Leithers know how to (legally) dispose of unwanted items. So we can all work together to tackle flytipping.
Did you know 'Flyspotting’ gives a nod to the popular Trainspotting films, set in Leith?
Who is involved?
The campaign was developed in response to feedback from residents around Leith. It was designed by Gerry Farrell Ink (Leithers Don’t Litter) in partnership with Changeworks and the City of Edinburgh Council. You can read about all about the Flyspotting campaign and the results so far in our campaign summary.
Where’s it happening?
We trialled our flytipping campaign in an area between Lorne Street and Albert Street where residents said they needed help reducing waste. Early findings confirm our approach works – successfully reducing flytipping by a whopping 47% in the trial area. We are now bringing it to other parts of Leith: find out how you can get involved!
